An Upperman High School student is recovering after suffering a hit to the head during a baseball game Wednesday.
Terry Jared said an ambulance took his son, Dristin, to Cookeville Regional Medical Center. From there, he was transported to Vanderbilt.
“He was pitching, a ground ball got hit back at him and caught him on the side of the face, busted his lip and knocked him out,” Jared said.
The injury was frightening, but Dristin is recovering well and may even be released from the hospital Thursday, Jared said.
“His impact test came back really well, so we’re looking to come home this evening,” Jared said.
Jared said he and his family appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that have gone out for them.
